The women from rural communities of Mithila
in southern Nepal has an old tradition of
painting lively ethnic arts on the walls
of their homes. These exotic painting arts
varying with the festive occasions. For
the last two decades, the artists have adopted
the same fabulous paintings onto the various
products of Nepalese hand made papers, clothing
and pottery goods.
The beautiful paints in the form of animals,
birds, plants, deities and human weddings
symbolize the prosperity, fertility, good
fortune, culture and religions of Nepal.
Some institutions have been opened in
Nepal with the specific purpose of providing
trainings of the poor & illiterate
young generation of Mithila paintings
to upgrade their family and social economy
by selling their products to the worldwide
markets.
